Abraham Staggered Not At The Promise

We see many promises in The Word of God, but one that I want to focus on is Abraham’s promise.
It is a promise we are still witnessing today
Genesis 15:5
5 And the Lord brought Abram outside [his tent into the night] and said, “Look now toward the heavens and count the stars—if you are able to count them.” Then He said to him, “So [numerous] shall your descendants be.”
We are living it because we are the descendants
(Some biologically and some spirituality…and some both)
What amazes me about this promise is that Abraham was unable to have children. This could have made the promise even harder to believe. He was also old…another reason it was probably hard to believe. He most likely saw others around him having children, which could made it even harder to believe.
But He had a word from God, Most High.
We must acknowledge that The Word still stands when what the physical eye may see, fails.
The Word withstands and defies what may be set up against you.
This next verse states
6 Then Abram believed in (affirmed, trusted in, relied on, remained steadfast to) the Lord; and He counted (credited) it to him [b]as righteousness (doing right in regard to God and man).
He did not doubt because He knew that it was God that was speaking.
We may not physically see things that align with whatever promise that God has given you, but it is your belief that is needed. Your faith is needed. Not your sight.
The verse also says that Abraham remained steadfast, even when the promise had not come.
So what must you do before the promise comes?
Remain.
Remain rooted.
Remain faithful.
Remain In obedience.
Remain His.
Continue to work
before the promise
When the promise appears
And even after it arrives.
His word is not void (empty).
Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Unshakable faith because our Father is unshakable
(How can I not mention Romans 4:17-21)
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb:
20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
He staggered not. He remained true to God and believe He would fulfill His word despite the physical opposition he faced. Verse 17 is what I admire most.
God does what? Calls (present tense) those things that are not(may seem too good to be true) as though they were( to be made known).
Is there anything too hard for Him?
Biblical comparison
When it comes to His word and relying on Him, I like to refer to Peter when Jesus called him to walk on water with Him. (Matthew 14: 22-33)
Peter asked
Jesus said “Come”
But as he walked on the water to get to Christ, He doubted because of what he SAW.(the waves)
His word overrides our physical circumstances
Walk by faith and not by sight.
He knows how to keep a promise.
Do you know how to remain faithful?
(Key notes)
Doubt is your enemy. Doubt makes you a slave to the flesh. Doubt taints your trust in Him.
