Here on The Servant Hearted, I never imagined getting personal—by that, I mean truly sharing what’s going on in the life of Victoria. But how can there be trust without transparency?
I love creating blog posts, but I never want to get to a place where I’m preaching at God’s people instead of resonating with them. These posts convict me too. I want you all to trust that I’m being led by His Spirit, so let’s be honest.
When we look at the Bible, we see the lives of so many people put on display for us to read. Their struggles, doubts, and faith journeys all had a flashlight put on them. So who am I to withhold what I’m going through if it can help someone else?
With that being said…
I’m His creation. That means I’m being perfected daily. I go through the ups and downs of life just like everyone else. There are moments I find myself at a crossroads asking, “God, what’s next?”
Right now, I’m in a season of finishing school and feeling unsure about the next step. I thought everything would be planned out. I believed in Jeremiah 29:11,but now I’m in the transition phase, waiting for the outcome.
And here’s the reality: the “how” isn’t for me to know. If I knew, I’d probably mess it up trying to do things in my own strength.
Yeah… I’d ruin it.
But God has a way of making everything fall into place if we have an ear to hear Him. That tells me I just need to hear His voice more clearly. And guess what?
It’s possible.
It all goes back to intimacy with Him.
Yes, He has a plan, but it’s up to us to walk in obedience so that plan can be fulfilled. He carved out your life, but are you walking the path? (Ephesians 2:10)
So what happens when you’re in the in-between?
Obey. Even when you don’t know what’s next. Too often, we want a word from God before we act, but faith isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about trusting Him before they come.
Lean into Him more than any other person or thing, and He will reveal.
Let’s bring scripture into this.
In Genesis 12, God called Abraham out of his father’s house and made His promise known. As Abraham obeyed, he faced many trials, but here’s what I love: God kept revealing pieces of the promise along the way.
“Unto thy seed will I give this land.” — Genesis 12:7“
All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever... I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth.” — Genesis 13:15-16
“I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.” — Genesis 17:2
Through it all, God was shaping Abraham into someone we now call a father in the faith.
So what must I do?
The same.
Even when things don’t look promising. Even when it feels like I’m walking blindfolded. God doesn’t operate based on what we see, but on how we believe.
“We walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7
He is faithful. And He’s not done with me or you yet.
